A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck the west coast of the northern Sumatra region in Indonesia, on Tuesday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The German Research Center on Geoscience said the magnitude 5.9 earthquake strikes Southern Sumatra. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometres (6.21 miles), GFZ said.
