Eclipse - Search Menu

Quickly find a resource in the Workbench by searching resource names. You can also do contextual searches for information that is contained inside files.

In the Search Dialog, the File Search tab allows you to search for files or text in the Workbench. You can bring up the Search Dialog by clicking on the Search ...

press Ctrl + H . Then choose File Search tab. Filter/Search for File Search and use the Ctrl+H here instead.

Eclipse does provide similar functions: Open Resource Shift + Ctrl + R for all resource files (including Java files).

You can navigate to Search >> File. You can then specify your string and a working set. Set the working set to your project folder.

Click on the menubar at Search --> File --> And than type in the name of your file. You can also choose, which filetype your file is, In which part of eclipse ...

Open the file in Eclipse and use the ctrl+f key to invoke the search/replace box to search for a piece of text.

In Eclipse you can use CTRL + H to perform either a file search, task search, Git search or Java search throughout a project, workspace or even package.

The Eclipse search dialog box allows you to search for files that contain a literal or a character pattern in the entire workspace.
